Hello everyone, welcome to “Fonoaudiology Tips”. Our principal goal is to show you how is the Fonoaudiology career. There are different tips to help you in the different areas of the career like intervention materials, pictures, clinical cases books, intervention proyects and  the theraphy for some pathologies that we like professional will treat.

Its important to note in this webpage you can find material for the five areas of the fonoaudiology, which are : language,  speech, voice, swallowing and hearing. As you can see, the performance areas of the fonoaudiology are wide and varied therefore the speech therapists will choose the performance area acording to their pleasantness.

Each area of the fonoaudiologia it's different itself. Below we will show you the role of the speech therapist in each one.

Adult language: the role of the speech therapist to works in the prevention, evaluation, diagnostic, treatment, rehabilitation in speech deseases, language, swallowing and cognitive impairments caused for vascular accidents, traumatic brain injury  or aging.

Child language: the role of the speech therapist in the child language is to identify and prevent pathologies, measure, evaluate, develop therapy programs, interfere in communication disorders, advice, re-evaluate and monitor progress of the treated child.

Hearing: the role of the speech therapist on the hearing area is basically rehabilitation and reeducate its. Is responsible to make the at patient can hear again, and if he never hear, teach him about sounds, and how he must learn to discrimínate.

Voice: The speech therapist in the area of voice is a professional who can make evaluations, diagnostics, treatments and rehabilitation of the persons with voice disorders. Also he must act at the prevention, care and preservation of vocal health.

Swallowing: the swallowing job is with all the phono articulatory organs. These are the organs that allow us to make the actions of chewing, talking, swallowing and breathing. These organs are the lips, the tongue, teeth, and hard and soft palate. This discipline reviews the functional disorders that are created as a result of a malfunction of the bucofacial muscle.
